Tantalizing Coffee Recipes to Try at Home
Go no further than your own kitchen to create a new variation on another refreshing beverage – iced coffee. Iced coffee is made by icing down hot brewed coffee rather than the longer process of using cold water to create a Cold Brew coffee.
Try a new take on iced coffee by adding homemade coffee ice cubes. It’s a simple concept…as the ice cubes melt, the delicious coffee flavor is never compromised as is the case with regular ice cubes.
Coffee Ice Cubes
Start with strong brewed coffee, such as Javatino’s Cuba Joe’s Espresso, French Roast, or Bali Blue Moon. Let the coffee cool slightly and pour into ice cube molds or trays until frozen (about 5 hours). It’s that easy! And for some yummy variations, try the following:
Mocha Ice Cubes – Add 1 cup of milk and 6 tablespoons powdered chocolate milk mix to 1 cup of iced coffee. Whisk until well blended and then pour into ice cube molds and freeze.
Caramel Macchiato Ice Cubes – Whisk together 1 cup of iced coffee, 1 cup of milk, and 1/4 cup of caramel. After pouring into the ice cube molds and freezing, savor this sweet addition to your iced coffee.
Vietnamese Coffee Ice Cubes – Add 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk to 1-1/2 cups iced coffee. Whisk together and freeze in ice cube molds to create this refreshing pick me up.
S’Mores Iced Coffee
You don’t need a fire pit to create a new version of a timeless summer treat. Nothing says summer like the brilliant combination of chocolate, marshmallows, and graham crackers.
To make your own s’mores-flavored iced coffee, start with 1/2 cup strong brewed coffee.
While the coffee is still hot, add 1/4 cup of marshmallow fluff. Once the marshmallow has melted into the coffee, add the mixture to a blender, along with 1/2 cup milk and 1 tablespoon chocolate syrup. For those with a sweeter palate, you can add approximately 1/2 tablespoon sugar.
To serve, fill a tall glass with coffee ice cubes and pour the blended coffee into the glass. Top it off with more marshmallow fluff or whipped cream and add crushed graham crackers. Guaranteed to impress – and satisfy those s’mores cravings!
