Celebrate that extra cup of coffee knowing that it will pay great dividends in health benefits. Several new studies show a link between coffee consumption and reduced mortality, as well as an improvement in athletic performance.

Coffee + Coffee = Longevity

Recent scientific surveys have shown that as little as 2-3 cups of coffee per day can lower the risk of dying from a number of diseases and health-related issues by 18 percent.  And even one cup a day has its benefits. Two surveys were conducted on a total of more than 700,000 people in the United States and Europe across multiple races and ethnicities, making it the largest study to date on coffee and mortality. Published in the Annals of Internal Medicine, both studies point to a stronger biological possibility for the relationship between coffee and longevity. Deaths related to heart disease, cancer, respiratory and digestive diseases, stroke, diabetes, as well as kidney and liver disease are among those that showed a decrease from coffee consumption.
