Passion for Coffee

Time for a much-needed break from what is becoming your new home routine? Come join Javatino as we continue our journey through the Coffee Bean Belt, the geographic region that stretches from Central and South America, through Africa, and on to Southeast Asia. The region encompasses more than 70 countries, not to mention countless cultures and traditions. The region has the perfect conditions for coffee growing, with coffee production being the lifeblood of the region, and providing the bulk of the world’s coffee.

The Javatino team is passionate about bringing our customers the best quality coffee product. We work with local farmers throughout the Coffee Bean Belt who are just as passionate about the intricate process of growing and cultivating the beans, as we are about the roasting and final preparation of each product we sell.  And when you order coffee from Orlando’s first and only Certified Organic coffee roaster, you know you are getting the healthiest and freshest coffee available.

Exotic Flavors of Indonesia

Javatino offers a diverse selection of Certified Organic Single Origin coffees, including those from the island nation of Indonesia – featuring Java Organic, Sumatra Organic, and for a limited time only – Bali Blue Moon Organic.

Indonesia, formerly known as the Dutch East Indies, lies between the Indian and Pacific Oceans off the coast of mainland Southeast Asia. The country enjoys a long-standing coffee tradition dating back to the 17th century when the Dutch first introduced coffee plants to Indonesia. Today it is the fourth-largest coffee-producing country behind Brazil, Vietnam and Colombia.

Cup of Java

The island of Java is one of a string of 17,000 islands that makes up Indonesia. The term “Java” was originally used by the Dutch when referring to coffee grown on the island of Java, and still remains a popular nickname for the beverage.

Our Java Organic coffee is carefully crafted to a medium to dark roast to highlight its rich and complex flavors, featuring a hint of chocolate undertones. The coffee is sourced from a small, independent farmer in Java, and is also Rainforest Alliance Certified, meaning the coffee farmers are trained in sustainable farming methods to protect the environment and valuable ecosystems, while the farmers are also supported by fair wages.

Sweet Sumatra

Located directly to the west of Java is the island of Sumatra, the origin of Javatino’s Sumatra Organic coffee. Reminiscent of the coffee found in local Sumatran street stalls, this variety has a sweet, smooth body. Our medium to dark roast also features cedar notes with a chocolate-like finish.

Our Java Organic and Sumatra Organic coffees are also Fair Trade Certified®, ensuring our farmers are receiving a living wage, and are working under safe and favorable conditions.

Try your own version of the popular Indonesian Kopi Tubruck (Plain Brewed Coffee) with our ground Sumatra Organic coffee. Add one tablespoon of coffee grounds and sugar (to taste) in a large mug. Bring water to a boil and fill the mug. Stir well and let it sit for 3-5 minutes, allowing the grounds to settle to the bottom of the mug.  Spice it up like a native Indonesian by adding ginger, clove or cardamom. Then, sip and savor!

Eat, Pray, Love…and Drink CoffeeJose driving tractor

For a limited time only, you can still enjoy a taste of the beautiful Indonesia island of Bali, featured in the book and film Eat, Pray, Love. Our Bali Blue Moon Organic coffee presents a syrupy medium to dark roast, highlighting delicious hints of licorice, chocolate, vanilla and mild pepper notes  – and offering an exotic escape from the current state of mind.

The coffee is named after the bluish hue of the bean produced from the wet-hulling process known as “Giling Basah” where the skin and pulp are removed from the bean after harvesting, and before being dried on special elevated screens to ensure just the right amount of sweetness and acidity. Our Bali Blue Moon Organic originates from the fertile volcanic highlands of the Kintamani region.
