Seeking Comfort and Inspiration

Amid one of the most challenging – if not THE most challenging – periods in our lifetime, we all find ourselves searching for purpose and inspiration in the absence of a familiar routine. Many of us are busier than ever with homeschooling and WFH, while some are obsessed with news feeds and TikTok videos. For those seeking solace and a sense of accomplishment, many have embraced DIY home-improvement projects, and a renewed passion for cooking and baking.

Banana bread has made a comeback, along with other favorites, including cookies and brownies. What better complement to homemade baked goods than a freshly brewed cup of coffee? Javatino, your local Orlando Certified Organic coffee roaster, encourages you to get creative and try out your own coffee concoctions at home. And yes, banana bread goes great with all of them!

Homemade Cappuccino

Nothing offers a better pick me up than a traditional cappuccino. Start with freshly brewed espresso and milk to recreate Italy’s national coffee beverage.

We recommend using our organic and Fair Trade Certified Javatino Cuba Joe’s Espresso to give you that full-bodied and bold flavor. And as with all of our coffee products, it is made from 100% Arabica beans to ensure the correct balance of acidity.

The secret to a perfect cappuccino is having equal portions of espresso, steamed milk and foamed milk (approximately 1/3 each).  Fill a mug with espresso a little less than halfway. Heat up 1 cup of milk in a saucepan on medium heat until it bubbles just before boiling.  Either whip the milk with an electric beater or pour it into a mason jar and shake vigorously to create a froth. (Non-fat or reduced-fat milk works best.) Slowly pour the frothed milk into the coffee and spoon the remaining foam on top. Add a dash of cocoa or cinnamon – delizioso!

Easy-to-Make Lattes

To create a traditional Latte, simply change the cappuccino portions to include more steamed milk. Change it up by adding approximately 2 tablespoons of your favorite flavored syrup, such as vanilla, almond or caramel. And for a French twist, leave out the foam entirely and you’ll have a Café au Lait. Use our Javatino French Roast Organic to make the best robust version of this classic French coffee drink.

Honey Coffee

Honey Coffee originated in Spain and offers a sweeter version of a classic Latte.  In a saucepan, combine 2 cups of hot, strong brewed coffee (Javatino French Roast or Javatino Sumatra), 1/2 cup milk, 1/4 cup honey, 1/8 teaspoon cinnamon and a dash of nutmeg.  Heat and stir until just before boiling. Remove from heat and stir in 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract. Surprise a loved one with a sweet start to their day.
